When your credit is pulled, the three credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion) may be selling your information to creditors, so don’t be alarmed if you start receiving random credit solicitations via phone and mail. The good news is that you can opt out to prevent future solicitations.

Think of this as the old “Do Not Call” list… but only for credit. It’s free and only takes a few minutes do get it done. You will need to provide your personal information; date of birth, social, phone number, etc., but it’s worth it. Visit the FTC’s Consumer Information site for more information and frequently asked questions.
P.S. You can also opt out of future junk mail and emails while you’re there.
