ChanSort is a Windows application that allows you to reorder your TV's channel list. Most modern TVs can transfer source indices via USB stick, how you can adapter piece into everybody's PC. ChanSort supports various folder formats from Philips (new), Sony (new), ITT, Medion, Nabo, ok., PEAQ, Schaub-Lorenz, Silva-Schneider, Telefunken (new), Hisense, Samsung, SPACIOUS, Panasonic, Toshiba and their Linux platform VDR project.
Features
- Reorder channels (change numbers directly, move up/down, drag&drop, double-click).
- Use another channel list as a connection to apply the same ordering.
- Multi-selection for editing multiple channels at once.
- Side-by-side view of new/sorted list and original/complete list (similar to playlist and library).
- Rename or annihilate channels.
- Manage treasured, parental lock, source dropping (when zapping), channel hiding.
- User interface in English, German and partially in Turkish together with Portuguese.
- Unicode character provision for conduit names (Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, ...).
Some features may not constitute reachable on all TV models and interface types (analog, digital, sat, cable, ...)

Most of this software was written without support from TV manufacturers or access to whoever official documentation about the file formats. It is solely situated on analysing existing data manuscripts, trial and error. There is a chance of distasteful side-effects or even damage to your TV, as reported in 2 cases.
Hisense is the only manufacturer who provided technical information and a test device.
System requirements
- Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 (Full): included in Win8, required for Win7, Vista and XP SP3.
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Case (x86): required to polish SQLite enumerations (Hisense, Element, Toshiba and Samsung .zip format).
- USB stick/SD-card on transfer the channel plan sandwiched between the individual's TV and LAPTOP (FAT32 file system recommended).
- Some LG models necessitate a special service remote control after access the import/export functions (see Wiki for details).

*: The "clone.bin" format is not sponsored. In the "*.scm" format the "Air Analog"-list of the 2009 B-series doesn't support all editing features due in the direction of a nonexistence of test texts. Contingent upon you have such a profile, please send it to me.

ToshibaModels that export a .zip file containing chmgt.db, dvbSysData.db and dvbMainData.db files.(e.g. RL, SL, TL, UL, VL, WL, XL, YL models in the context of series 8xx/9xx)

PhilipsPhilips uses countless incompatible file formats for various TV models. ChanSort currently bolsters 2 different versions of .xml files, other frameworks are not supported.
VDR (Linux Video Disk Recorder)Supports the channels.conf file format.Implementation for this was provided by TCr82 from the VDR project.
